[TV] Failed Office Spinoff To Air As Part Of The Final Season
Posted by Joseph Lee on 12.27.2012

TV Line reports that the pilot to the Dwight Schrute Office spin-off The Farm will air after all, as part of The Office's final season. Series creator Greg Daniels also says this could have a positive effect on how Dwight's story ends as the show comes to an end.

NBC passed on the pilot in October. Daniels says the backdoor pilot is "a very good episode" and said it will air before the series finale next year.

He said: "We're not going to air exactly what it was, because it has certain aspects that were appropriate for a pilot of a new show. We're going to shoot a little additional material to make it fit into the season more."

Daniels says there were two scenarios planned out for Dwight. The first was that he would go onto The Farm, while another had him possibly staying together with Angela. Daniels added: "We're into the [latter] scenario."
