Due to the transition toward online balloting...
- The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced that the deadline for members to vote on Oscar nominations has been extended by a day. The new deadline is January 4th at 5 PM PT; members may vote either online or via paper ballot.
AMPAS COO Ric Robertson said, "By extending the voting deadline we are providing every opportunity available to make the transition to online balloting as smooth as possible. We're grateful to our global membership for joining us in this process."
This is the first year of online voting for the Oscars, and it has been reported that there were some slight hiccups in the new system as well as some members who were having problems with logging in to vote.
