His first major Hollywood film...
Pedro Bromfman will score the remake of Robocop, according to Film Music Reporter.
The film is directed by Jose Padhila and stars Joel Kinnaman as a Detroit police officer who is gunned down in the line of duty and then turned into Robocop. It co-stars Samuel L. Jackson, Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, Jay Baruchel, Abbie Cornish, John Paul Ruttan, Jackie Earle Haley, Jennifer Ehle and Marianne Jean-Baptiste.
Eric Newman & Marc Abraham (Children of Men, Dawn of the Dead) and Roger Birnbaum (Wanted, Rush Hour) & Gary Barber (True Romance) will produce. The film is presented by Strike Entertainment, MGM and Columbia Pictures. It is a remake of the 1987 Paul Verhoeven film, which had a score by Basil Poledouris.
Bromfman previously scored Padhila's Elite Squad films. This will be his first major Hollywood production. The film is in post-production and will be released on February 7, 2014 by Sony Pictures.
