People reports that the Modern Family cast has posed as the cast of old television favorites to promote the upcoming new episodes on ABC.
- Eric Stonestreet is Ralph (originally played by Jackie Gleason), Jesse Tyler Ferguson is Ed Norton (originally played by Art Carney) and their on-screen daughter Aubrey Anderson-Emmons appears to be playing Alice (originally played by Aubrey Meadows) in an homage to The Honeymooners.
- In an homage to Bewitched, Ty Burrell plays Darren Stephens (played by both Dick York and Dick Sargent) and Julie Bowen plays Samantha Stephens (played by Elizabeth Montgomery).
- In an homage to I Love Lucy, Sofia Vergara plays Lucy Ricardo (played by Lucille Ball) and Ed O'Neill plays Ricky Ricardo (played by Desi Arnaz), with Rico Rodriguez playing Little Ricky.
- In an homage to Gilligan's Island, Ariel Winter plays Mary Ann Summers (played by Dawn Wells), Sarah Hyland plays Ginger Grant (played by Tina Louise) and Nolan Gould plays Gilligan (played by Bob Denver).
