[TV] NBC Boss Says Steve Carrell Unlikely to Appear in The Office Series Finale

Carrell doesn't want to compromise his original exit...
TV Line reports that the series finale of The Office will likely not see a return of Steve Carrell as former Dunder Mifflin Scranton, NJ branch boss Michael Scott. The series finale is set to be a one-hour farewell.
According to NBC Chairman Robert Greenblatt, "I'm hopeful, but I don't think [Steve] will be back. He left in the way that he wanted that character to leave." He added, "There's maybe a little hail mary pass on a cameo, but I think the decision is that he [doesn't want to compromise] his [original] exit."
Last month, executive producer Greg Daniels stated that he had some "some cool story ideas" to bring Michael back into the show, "but we're still not 100 percent sure Steve will want to participate."
The finale is rumored to air around Thursday, May 9.
