[Movies] Robopocalypse Put on Hold for Steven Spielberg
Posted by Jeffrey Harris on 01.09.2013

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Robopocalypse from director Steven Spielberg and based on the science fiction novel by Daniel H. Wilson has been put on indefinite hold.

The movie was originally slated for an April 25, 2014 release date with Anne Hathaway, Chris Hemsworth, and Ben Wishaw all reportedly set to star. Marvin Levy, speaking on behalf of Spielberg stated that the movie is "too important and the script is not ready, and it's too expensive to produce. It's back to the drawing board to see what is possible."

In the story for the book, humanity is driven to near annihilation by a global network of machines. The remains of humanity unite to fight back.
