Gremlins is the latest film to get the reboot treatment. Vulture reports that Warner Bros. Pictures is in talks with Amblin Entertainment to reboot the 1984 horror comedy. A new take on the film has been discussed many times over the years but have never come about due to financial hurdles involving Spielberg, but the site reports that "it might just actually come off this time."
Spielberg executive produced the first film and would be likely to do the same here. A spokesman for Spielberg said that the appropriate executives weren't available for comment.
