A man was seriously injured...
TMZ reports that a construction worker named Ryan Rodriguez is suing Columbia Pictures, Sony Entertainment and toy store FAO Schwarz in New York City after he suffered an accident on the set of The Smurfs. Rodriguez is suing for $15 million.
FAO Schwarz was leased by Sony and Columbia as a shooting location in May 2010. On the 20th of that month, Rodriguez claims he fell off of scaffolding inside FAO while doing construction on the set. He says that he "seriously and permanently" injured himself. The accident ruined his life and he hasn't been able to work like he used to.
He claims that Columbia, Sony, FAO Schwarz and other defendants are responsible for not providing a safe working environment. A judge has yet to rule.
