[TV] Ratings: The Following Debuts To Decent Numbers, But Can't Beat CBS

CBS' comedies barely win that hour...
While the premiere of The Following did better than FOX's The Mob Doctor in the previous time slot and had decent ratings overall (in line with the premieres of Terra Nova and Alcatraz), it only earned second place against CBS' comedies for the hour it was on. Meanwhile, ABC's The Bachelor was up a little bit for its best numbers of the season and NBC's Deception continued to fall. The Carrie Diaries also fell from its premiere last week.
CBS won with 10.3 million viewers and a 6.4 rating/10 share in households. It was followed by FOX (9.4 million, 5.6/8), ABC (7.9 million, 5.2/8), NBC (5.25 million, 3.3/5) and The CW (1 million, 0.7/1).
In the adults 18-49 demographic, CBS won again with a 3.0, followed by FOX (2.7), ABC (2.3), NBC (2.0) and The CW (0.4).
