But the sponsor hasn't been a lawyer for almost twenty years...
Lindsay Lohan's new lawyer has obtained the sponsor that he needs to practice law in California, though the sponsor hasn't actually practiced law in seventeen years. As previously reported, Lohan fired her California lawyer Shawn Holley last week in favor of her New York attorney Mark Heller, and Heller can only represent Lindsay if he gets a sponsor who is allowed to practice law in California.
TMZ reports that Heller obtained sponsorship from Lindsay Berger Sacks, who was admitted to practice law in 1994 but lost that when she became an inactive member of the bar in 1996. Beger Sacks is a Los Angeles socialite and a member of the Doheny Dining Club; she has now reactivated her membership in the bar as of last Tuesday.
Heller is asking that the case file in Lohan's trial for lying to police after her car accident during the summer be forwarded to Berger Sacks.
