[Movies] Bill Hader To Take Over David Hasselhoff's Role In Baywatch Movie
Posted by Joseph Lee on 01.22.2013

The Wrap reports that Bill Hader will star in Baywatch, the film version of the 1990s TV show. He will take over David Hasselhoff's role as leader of a team of lifeguards.

Director Robert Ben Garant announced the news but warned that the contract hasn't been signed yet. Hader's spokesman Matt Labov denied the report. Hasselhoff will have a cameo in the film. Like Reno 911 parodied the over-dramatization of shows like Cops, this will parody the seriousness of the show. Pamela Anderson will also have a cameo.

The story sees the lifeguards exploring an oil rig off the Malibu coast that is actually a meth lab. Jeremy Garelick and Peter Tolan wrote drafts before Ben Garant took over. He said: "They're so excited they made us shoot a trailer and the script isn't even done."

The film will start shooting in April.
