[TV] Mad Men Season Six To Premiere On April 7

Coming Soon reports that Mad Men's sixth season will be gin airing on Sunday, April 7 at 9/8c with a two-hour premiere written by creator and executive producer Matthew Weiner and directed by executive producer Scott Hornbacher. On April 14, the series will have its regular timeslot of 10/9c with an episode written by Jonathan Igla and Weiner and directed by Jon Hamm.
Weiner said: "To be able to continue exploring the stories of these characters for a sixth season is an amazing opportunity. We love mining this world and look forward to bringing the audience stories that we hope will continue to both surprise and entertain them."
Charlie Collier, President and General Manager of AMC added: "It is a calling card and a point of great pride for AMC to be the network home of 'Mad Men,' led by Matthew Weiner and his brilliant team. We can't wait to share season six with the world and what better way to start than with a special two-hour premiere?"

The series was created by Weiner and produced by Lionsgate. It stars Jon Hamm, January Jones, Elisabeth Moss, John Slattery, Vincent Kartheiser, Christina Hendricks, Jessica Paré, Aaron Staton, Rich Sommer, Robert Morse, Jay Ferguson, Chris Stanley, Ben Feldman and Kiernan Shipka.
The fifth season will hit AMC On Demand starting February 11, with season five episodes being added each week before the season premiere. Every Sunday morning at 6/5c AM to catch up on past episodes starting March 3.
