Bradley Cooper may be set to play Lance Armstrong in a new biopic.
J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot company announced they would team with Paramount Pictures to buy the rights to the book Cycle of Lies: The Fall and Rise of Lance Armstrong by New York Times journalist Juliet Macur in order to make it a film.
Cooper previously told the BBC: "I remember Matt Damon was going to do his autobiography at one point years ago. I would be interested in that. I think he's fascinating. What a fascinating character."
However, he then spoke with Access Hollywood at the Screen Actors Guild awards about it and said: "Oh my god, that's so nuts… I had no idea what [the interviewer] was talking about. I didn't even know that J.J. has the rights, I had no idea."
Abrams himself has told Entertainment Tonight at the Producers Guild Awards that Cooper was interested. He added: "He sent me an email, and we've been talking."
