Gore Verbinski will produce and direct a feature film version of the graphic novel Pyongyang: A Journey in North Korea. Deadline reports that Verbinski will direct the dark comedy from a script by Steve Conrad (The Pursuit of Happyness).
The filmn is about Delisle, a French animator, as he ventures into North Korea to supervise production of an animated film that has been outsourced to the country. While there, he witnesses many bizarre things and is eventually accused of espionage.
