[Movies] Star Trek Into Darkness To Premiere Two Days Early in IMAX
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 02.03.2013

IMAX and Paramount have announced that Star Trek Into Darkness will be hitting IMAX 3D theaters two days before the film's wide release. The film will open in IMAX on May 15th, with the full wide release hitting on May 17th. Fans can get tickets for the early shows exclusively through the Star Trek Into Darkness app from the App Store and Google Play.

IMAX Chairman and president Greg Foster said, "As we saw with the reaction to the first nine minutes of the film, which debuted in our theatres in December, fans are clearly excited by the opportunity to see this epic film come to life in IMAX. We're thrilled to work with our long-standing partners at Bad Robot and Paramount Pictures to offer audiences an opportunity to see J.J. Abrams' masterful interpretation two days early in the world's most immersive format IMAX 3D."

The film stars John Cho, Bruce Greenwood, Simon Pegg, Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Anton Yelchin, Benedict Cumberbatch, Alice Eve and Peter Weller, with J.J. Abrams directing.
