[TV] Ratings: Super Bowl XLVII Likely To Set Another Record
Posted by Joseph Lee on 02.04.2013

CBS' coverage of Super Bowl XLVII will likely get another ratings record, even with a 34-minute power outage that interrupted the second half of the game. The metered-market ratings for the game, 48.1/71, are the best ever, up from last year's 47.8/71. The national ratings, which aren't completely accurate for live broadcasts, are ahead of last year. The blackout pushed the airing of Elementary out of primetime, but it did get its highest rating ever with a 12.0/24.

CBS won with 95.9 million viewers and a 41.7 rating/62 share in households. It was followed by ABC (2 million, 1.3/2), NBC (1.8 million, 1.2/2) and FOX (1.5 million, 0.8/1).

In the adults 18-49 demographic, CBS won again with a 35.3 rating (up from last year's 32.0). It was followed by FOX (0.6), ABC (0.5) and NBC (0.4).
