[Gossip] John Travolta Denied Arbitration In Cruise Ship Lawsuit

He can't settle the matter privately...
TMZ reports that a federal judge has ruled against John Travolta's request to settle his lawsuit with the Royal Caribbean cruise ship company through arbitration. Travolta's attorneys had claimed that his ticket for the 2009 liner included an agreement to settle any disputes between a passenger and the company privately and out of court.
Fabian Zanzi, who worked for the cruise ship, sued Travolta last June because he claims Travolta exposed his penis in his stateroom and then embraced Zanzi after he asked for a neck massage. The judge said that there is no evidence that Zanzi is bound by the same arbitration agreement between Travolta and Royal Caribbean.
This could go to trial unless a settlement is reached, which could happen if Travolta wants to avoid a public trial. Arbitration being blocked increases the amount that could be given in a settlement. Travolta's attorney has called the lawsuit a "ludicrous" attempt to get "15 minutes of fame". He thinks Travolta will be "completely vindicated in court."
