Redbox's streaming service will be exclusive to the Xbox 360 at its launch. Microsoft's Larry Hryb has announced that the service, which is still in beta, will be heading to the 360 soon.
"Today we're happy to reveal that Redbox Instant by Verizon will be coming to Xbox 360 in the very near future," said Hryb. "If you are currently a Redbox Instant beta participant, you'll receive an email with a unique code to access the app on Xbox 360 in the coming days."
Redbox Instant will run $8 a month for DVD or $9 a month for Blu-Ray and in addition to their streaming library--which is looking to corner the movie side of the streaming market and leave TV to Netflix and Amazon--will offer four one-night rentals from Redbox kiosks. The 360 app will also include the ability to purchase or rent releases without a Redbox Instant subscription.
The service will eventually be available to other games platforms down the line.
