Posted by Larry Csonka on 02.06.2013

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lakeshore Entertainment has purchased the film rights to the Image comic series The Sword. The series was created by Jonathan and Joshua Luna, and ran for 24 issues from October of 2007 to May of 2010. Here is the description of the series…

Dara Brighton is a young paraplegic college student with a happy, normal life, until three strangers knock on her family's door, demanding a particular sword. After the assassination of her father, mother and sister, Dara is left in the burning house and crashes into the basement, where she finds the sword giving her incredible powers and setting her off on an incredible search for vengeance.
