Superhero Hype reports that Skyfall has passed The Dark Knight Rises in worldwide box office, which makes it the seventh highest-grossing film of all time. Skyfall has $1.094 billion while The Dark Knight Rises has $1.081 billion. The film received a large increase from the Chinese box office, where the film opened on January 21.
The six films that earned more than Skyfall are The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King ($1.119 billion), Transformers: Dark of the Moon ($1.123 billion), Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 ($1.328 billion), Marvel's The Avengers ($1.511 billion), Titanic ($2.185 billion), and Avatar ($2.782 billion).
Skyfall is the highest-grossing James Bond film of all time, double the worldwide gross of Quantum of Solace. It is available for digital download and will be out on DVD and Blu-ray on February 12.
