They'll be the first two projects...
As we all saw yesterday, Disney CEO Bob Iger officially confirmed that spin-off Star Wars films are under development that will be standalone projects. Now, EW reports that the first two films will focus on Boba Fett and a younger Han Solo.
The Boba Fett film would take place between Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope and Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back and would follow the galactically-known bounty hunter on an intergalactic adventure. Meanwhile, the Solo film would be set before A New Hope and would, obviously, require a new actor to play Solo. In the Star Wars Expanded Universe, Solo was orphaned at an early age and was trained by the pirate Garris Shrike before escaping in his teens. He then became a smuggler and had a relationship with a woman who left him to be part of the Rebel Alliance; he then joined the Imperial Academy but was kicked out after saving Chewbacca from a beating at the hands of an Imperial officer.
The films are being written by Lawrence Kasdan and Simon Kinberg and would likely see release sometime after Star Wars: Episode VII.
