Dakota Johnson (Ben and Kate) has signed onto Need for Speed. Deadline reports that Johnson will join Aaron Paul, Imogen Poots, Dominic Cooper, Ramon Rodriguez, Rami Malek, Harrison Gilbertson, Kid Cudi and Michael Keaton in the adaptation of EA's video game franchise. Scott Waugh (Act of Valor is directing.
The film is said to be based on the series, but not on a particular game and is a "fast-paced, high-octane film rooted in the tradition of the great car culture films of the '70s while being extremely faithful to the spirit of the video game franchise."
