Shawn Levy will direct Night at the Museum 3. Twentieth Century Fox has announced that the third film in the franchise, which will see Ben Stiller return to his role as security guard Larry Daley, will be released on December 25, 2014. Levy directed the first two films, the first of which saw Stiller's Larry as a security guard who discovered that the exhibits at New York's Musem of Natural History came to life at night. The sequel transplanted the action to the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C.
No word on the specific plot or location of the third film.
