[TV] Ratings: Community Premiere Up From Last Year

Big Bang Theory beats American Idol again...
Community's season four premiere had better ratings than last year's debut and final, even against both The Big Bang Theory and American Idol. Big Bang, meanwhile, helped CBS win the night and beat Idol for the second week in a row. Community also helped Parks and Recreation get a season high in the demographic. The only bad news for NBC was that Do No Harm fell from its very low premiere, with bad ratings for its hour. Scandal tied its series high in the demographic and Elementary went up a tenth of a point in the demographic.
CBS won with 14.2 million viewers and an 8.8 rating/14 share among households in primetime. It was followed by FOX (9.6 million, 5.7/9), ABC (7.2 million, 4.9/8), NBC (3.2 million, 2.0/3) and The CW (2 million, 1.3/2).
In the adults 18-49 demographic, CBS won again with a 3.5 rating, followed by FOX (2.1), ABC (2.4), NBC (1.4) and The CW (0.8).
