Sierra Affinity Films announced today in an official press release that the Academy Award-nominated actress Saoirse Ronan has been cast in How to Catch a Monster, the directorial debut for Ryan Gosling. In addition, actor Ben Mendelsohn will also be appearing in the movie as well.
Ronan and Mendelsohn join a cast which also includes Christina Hendricks, Eva Mendes, and Matt Smith. Hendricks plays Billy, a single mother "swept into a macabre and dark fantasy underworld while her teenage son discovers a secret road leading to an underwater town."
The movie will be produced by Marc Platt Productions along with Gosling's Phantasma Films. The movie begins filming in Detroit in May and is currently up for sale at the European Film Market in Berlin by Sierra Affinity Films.
