Not lighthearted...
Superhero Hype reports that Elizabeth Olsen has confirmed her role in Gareth Edwards' reboot of Godzilla in an interview on the BAFTA red carpet.
She said this version will be darker. She added: "It's definitely not lighthearted. It's kind of going back to its roots of the original Japanese film."
The 1954 original was directed by Ishiro Honda and Godzilla (then called Gojira) was an allegory for nuclear weapons. The original is a dark and somber film, especially compared to the campy sequels. The film is also rumored to star Bryan Cranston and Aaron Johnson. It will be released on May 16, 2014.
