Variety reports that Mark Neveldine is set to direct The Vatican Tapes for Lakeshore. The film was originally going to be directed by James Marsh (Man on a Wire).
Neveldine co-directed the Crank films, Gamer and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance with Brian Taylor. He will be solo this time.
The film, described as similar to The Exorcist and Rosemary's Baby, focuses on what happens after a tape gets leaked from the Vatican showing an exorcism gone wrong. The script was written by Christopher Borrelli.
