Coming Soon has revealed a new photo from Screen Gems' The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, which will be released on August 23. It features the character of Jace, played by Jamie Campbell Bower.
The film also stars Lily Collins, Robert Sheehan, Kevin Zegers, Lena Headey, Kevin Durand, Aidan Turner, Jemima West, Godfrey Gao, CCH Pounder, Jared Harris and Jonathan Rhys Meyers. It was directed by Harald Zwart and based on the first book in Cassandra Clare's book series.
Here's a synopsis: In the film, set in contemporary New York City, a seemingly ordinary teenager, Clary Fray (Collins), discovers she is the descendant of a line of Shadowhunters, a secret cadre of young half-angel warriors locked in an ancient battle to protect our world from demons. After the disappearance of her mother (Headey), Clary must join forces with a group of Shadowhunters, who introduce her to a dangerous alternate New York called Downworld, filled with demons, warlocks, vampires, werewolves and other deadly creatures.
