That's why we love him...
In an interview with Total Film magazine (via NME), Henry Cavill spoke about playing Superman in Man of Steel, directed by Zack Snyder (300, Watchmen).
He said: "This is not a movie about Zack Snyder directing something, or Henry Cavill playing a character. It's a selfless movie about a character who is going through what he is going through. He wants to do the right thing, but he's fallible, like the rest of us. He messes up, and that makes us love him more. I loved wearing the suit! You put it on every morning and you feel fantastic. I mean, you're wearing a Superman suit, for goodness sake!"
He also said that the film offers a new take on the story. He added: "I don't mean anything against the movies and TV shows that have come before, because they were of their time, but this is epically cool. People in the past have criticized the character for being a bit chocolate-box, a bit vanilla, and this is not that - at all."
The film also stars Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Michael Shannon as General Zod, Russell Crowe as Jor-El, Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent and Diane Lane as Martha Kent. David S. Goyer (Batman Begins, Jumper) wrote the script. It will be released on June 14, 2013.
