[Gossip] New York City Deli Apologizes For Accusing Forest Whitaker of Shoplifting

A deli in New York City that accused Forest Whitaker of shoplifting has issued an apology. Whitaker was accused by an employee at Milano Market of shoplifting and subjected him to public frisking. Now, TMZ reports that the market has apologized, saying that the employee in question has been fired.
A rep for the shop said, "The management of Milano Market deeply regrets the wrongful actions of our employee in stopping and frisking Forest Whitaker. While we can not delve into the employee's mindset, we do not believe that he was racially motivated in his actions, simply misguided."
The rep added that the market taking steps to retrain employees so it doesn't happen again and added they would like to contact Whitaker and make a donation to the charity of his choice to make things right.
