Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty) has signed on to star in 20th Century Fox's Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Matt Reeves will direct. Most of the plot is being kept secret but it will be set fifteen years after 2011's Rise of the Planet of the Apes, which starred James Franco. It will follow a group of human scientists who are trying to survive alone in San Francisco. Meanwhile, Caesar, played by Andy Serkis, is trying to keep control of his kingdom. It's unknown who Clarke will play.
The film will be produced by Peter Chernin, Dylan Clarke, Amanda Silver and Rick Jaffa are producing the movie from a script by Mark Bomback. The film will shoot in the spring.
