[Movies] Bryan Singer Says Nicholas Hoult Could Play Young Han Solo
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 02.19.2013

Bryan Singer says he wouldn't be surprised if his Jack the Giant Slayer and X-Men: Days of Future Past star Nicholas Hoult ended up playing a young Han Solo in the rumored Star Wars spin-off focusing on the character. As you know, Disney has confirmed that they are exploring standalone films in the Star Wars universe and one of those is said to be focusing on the legendary space smuggler in his earlier years before he got mixed up with the Skywalker clan. Moviefone spoke with Singer to promote Jack the Giant Slayer and asked him about the rumors that Hoult is on shortlists to play Solo.

"I don't know anything, but I literally would not be surprised if something like that happened," said Singer. "I almost said something to Nick today about it, like, "You know, I wouldn't be surprised if you find yourself in one of those." But I have no idea, even though I'm working with Simon Kinberg every day and he is involved with that franchise, I have no information about that. It's just my own intuition."

Hoult most recently starred in Warm Bodies and will next be seen in Jack the Giant Slayer, which opens March 1st.
