[TV] Ratings: American Idol Drops But Still Enough For FOX To Win
Posted by Joseph Lee on 02.21.2013
"Modern Family" and "Survivor" rise...
The first performances of the Top 40 on American Idol had a few more viewers but the demographic fell. It was still enough for FOX to win. Meanwhile, both Modern Family and Survivor: Caramoan were up in the demographic (after a low premiere in the demo for Survivor), as did Law & Order: SVU. Meanwhile, Katie Couric's ABC Oscar special didn't bring in many viewers.
FOX won with 14.2 million viewers and an 8.5 rating/13 share in households in primetime. It was followed by CBS (10.4 million, 6.5/10), ABC (6.8 million, 4.3/7), NBC (5.1 million, 3.4/5), The CW (2.7 million, 1.6/2).
In the adults 18-49 demographic, FOX won again with a 4.3 rating followed by CBS (2.5), ABC (2.1), NBC (1.5) and The CW (0.9).
