[Movies] Skyfall Writers Talk Kojak and Barbarella Posted by Joseph Lee on 02.25.2013
Two new reboots...
IGN spoke with Skyfall writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade about their upcoming TV adaptation of Barbarella for director Nicolas Winding Refn (Drive).
Purvis said: "We're discussing it - we're going to work it out with him. We've started – it's great for us to work with someone like that. Drive was a great film. We've already got some ideas. You have to have faith that people will like it."
Wade added: "It's got to be about something. And with Nicolas we have to do a good job. But science-fiction is great when it's a metaphor and about something. About our world. That's what the aspiration will be. But Barbarella is a very good question. There are some strong things that were in the film that were from the comic books and we're going back to that."
Wade also talked about another project the two are working on. He said: "We're doing Kojak with Vin Diesel. He's producing it. He's very passionate about New York and he grew up in New York in Manhattan watching TV and Kojak was the cop that knew the streets and got on with people. It's something that he really wants to do and we had quite a good idea for it."
When asked if Kojak will keep his lollipop, Purvis replied: "That is why people are going to have to buy the cinema ticket. To see."
There's no word on when either project will begin production.
