Gary Oldman is set to appear in the upcoming Dawn of the Planet of the Apes for director Matt Reeves. Oldman will reportedly play the leader of a human colony.
The movie will be set 15 years after the events of Rise. Most of humanity has been wiped out and intelligent apes are now ruling over the world. The focus of the film will be on a small group of San Francisco-based scientists who are forming a resistance against the apes and also Andy Serkis as Caesar who tries to maintain order and power in his civilization.
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes will start filming in spring and is set for a May 23, 2014 release date.
