[Movies] Emma Watson in Talks to Star in Cinderella for Disney

Variety reports that Emma Watson is in talks to star in a live-action version of Cinderella for in the role of the titular princess.
Watson is reportedly in early talks with the studio to play Cinderella under director Kenneth Branagh. Cate Blanchett is set to play the role of the wicked stepmother.
Disney is looking to begin production on the project sometime this fall for a 2014 release. Reportedly Disney also considered Gabriella Wilde, Imogen Poots, and Alicia Vikander for the role. They were unable to lock down deals with them due to scheduling and other considerations.
Watson will next appear in Noah for director Darren Aronofsky and the Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg comedy This is the End. Interestingly enough, in 2009 she considered starring in a musical featuring the Cinderella character that Marilyn Manson was planning to both write and direct.
