[Movies] New Plot Details for The Muppets... Again! Revealed by Producer David Hoberman
Posted by Jeffrey Harris on 02.28.2013

CraveOnline interviewed producer David Hoberman who gave out some new plot details on the currently-shooting sequel The Muppets... Again!

The movie is currently set for a March 21, 2014 release date. The Muppets go on a global tour and sell out theaters through Europe including in Berlin, Madrid and London. The Muppets soon get caught up in a crime caper involving Constantine, the World's Number One Criminal, who looks exactly like Kermit the Frog. Constantine's sidekick is Dominic (played by Ricky Gervais). The movie will also star Tina Fey as Nadya, a feisty prison guard, and Ty Burrell as Interpol agent Jean Pierre Napoleon.

Regarding the movie, Hoberman stated, "I think there are so many surprises and different, fun stories going on in this one...We go to a lot of different places. We just happen to end up in London. That's where the caper culminates."

Hoberman confirmed there won't be any type of cameo for Jason Segel reprising the role of Gary. The Moopets will however be back including Miss Poogy as well as the songwriting talents of Academy Award winner Bret McKenzie.

On Bret's involement, Hoberman stated: "Bret wrote all these songs for this new movie and they are so different and cover such a wide range of genres. I think we've got a couple of spectacular musical numbers in this one and I think it runs the gamut of ballad and comedy songs. Probably one homage to contemporary rock. I think we have five songs in this and they're all original, so I'm hopeful. Music is so ingrained in the Muppet culture and history, and it's part of the fun of doing it, frankly."
