Warner Bros. Pictures has announced that their sci-fi film Transcendence will release on April 25th, 2014. The film will star Johnny Depp and Paul Bettany and will be the directorial debut from Wally Pfister, the cinematographer on Christopher Nolan's films.
The movie is about a scientist whose brain gets uploaded into a supercomputer with the aim of creating the world's first machine that can think for itself. Depp will play a scientist named Will who is trying to create artificial intelligence.
