A different type of role for Kitsch...
Deadline reports that Taylor Kitsch has joined the cast of the HBO film The Normal Heart, which will be directed by Ryan Murphy.
Kitsch is set to pay Bruce Niles, a gay investment banker who becomes an activist for HIV/AIDS awareness. Kitsch joins a cast that also includes Julia Roberts, Mark Ruffalo, Jim Parsons, and Matt Bomer in a retelling of a Tony-award winning production.
Murphy is also executive producer of the project along with Jason Blum, Dede Gardner and Dante Di Loreto. Production for the show is set to begin later this year in New York for a 2014 debut.
