[Movies] Mila Kunis Will Not Star In Fifty Shades of Grey Posted by Joseph Lee on 03.04.2013
She's sorry...
NME reports that Mila Kunis will not star in a Fifty Shades of Grey movie. Kunis denied rumors she would star during a press conference for Oz the Great and Powerful.
It was reported in October of last year that Kunis had "emerged as frontrunner" to play the female lead. Kunis said she was "not disinterested", but seems to have backed off. She said: "Gosh, this Fifty Shades Of Grey thing is just not gonna leave is it. No, you will not see me in Fifty Shades of Grey. I'm so sorry."
The three novels, which focus on the sexual relationship between Anastasia Steele and businessman Christian Grey have sold over 65 million copies worldwide. EL James, the writer, sold the rights to Universal Pictures and Focus Features last March. In October, screenwriter Kelly Marcel was hired to write the script, but the film doesn't have a director or cast yet. James said that "we are still a long way from casting".
Other actresses linked to the female lead include Emma Watson and Alexis Bledel. Actors rumored for Christian Grey include Ryan Gosling, Channing Tatum and Henry Cavill. Universal Pictures chairman Adam Fogelson said the film could be in theaters as soon as summer 2014.
