Variety (via ComingSoon) reports that Keri Russell has been cast as the lead for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes for an unidentified part.
Russell joins the cast which currently includes joining Andy Serkis, Gary Oldman, Jason Clarke and Kodi Smit-McPhee. The story is set fifteen years after Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and most of humanity has been wiped out by the now intelligent apes ruling over the world. A small group of San Francisco-based scientists are now forming a resistance against the apes as Serkis' Caesar tries to maintain order in his new civilization.
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is set for a May 23, 2014 release.
