During an interview with Bloomberg Businessweek, George Lucas let slip that the original stars of the Star Wars trilogy, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford, have signed on for Star Wars: Episode VII.
He said: "We had already signed Mark and Carrie and Harrison—or we were pretty much in final stages of negotiation. So I called them to say, 'Look, this is what's going on.' Maybe I'm not supposed to say that. I think they want to announce that with some big whoop-de-do, but we were negotiating with them. I won't say whether the negotiations were successful or not."
The studio is developing standalone movies and Disney's Bob Iger said that he hopes to expand sales of merchandise overseas. ABC and Lucasfilm are currently discussing a live-action TV series.
