[Gossip] Lindsay Lohan Refuses Plea Deal, Case Set to Go to Trial on March 19
Posted by AJ Grey on 03.13.2013

RadarOnline reports that Lindsay Lohan's camp has not accepted the plea deal in her case of lying to police about her accident. The prosecutor is now set to take the case to trial on Tuesday of next week.

A source close to the situation claims: "A plea deal in the case isn't going to happen unless Lindsay comes to her senses. She refuses any deal that will send her to jail or rehab. She is confident that she will be acquitted of the charges of lying to cops. Lindsay's attorney, Mark Heller, and the prosecutor have reached an impasse in the talks, and Terry White, the Los Angeles City Attorney handling the case, is now in full preparation for the trial. The key witnesses, including the passenger in Lindsay's car that day, Gavin Doyle, and her bodyguard, have all been told they can expect to testify in the case next week."

The Los Angeles City Attorney is now requiring jail time or rehab for Lohan as part o fany plea deal in her case. She would have to go to rehab for at least 90 days. Jail time would be reportedly at least 45 days, though in Los Angeles that seems unlikely for a celebrity like Lohan. In the case against Lohan, multiple witnesses including the passenger in her car will be able to testify that Lohan was driving when she collided with a cement truck on the Pacific Coast Highway last summer.

Lohan's criminal trial will begin on Tuesday, March 19. Reportedly, even if Lohan is acquitted, she could still potentially face jail time for up to 245 days for violating probation in her past necklace theft case. Lohan will be in court on Monday, March 18. At that time, she will let the judge know if she wants her New York-based attorney, Mark Heller, to represent her in court. Judge James Dabney will assign the case to another courtroom for the trial to proceed.
