WWE alumnus will play Drax the Destroyer...
After weeks of rumors, Batista has officially been cast in Guardians of the Galaxy. THR reports that Batista will play Drax the Destroyer in Marvel Studios' big-budget franchise starter. Drax was originally a human named Arthur Douglas whose family was attacked and killed by Thanos. Kronos then took Arthur's spirit and placed it in a new superpowered body, recreating him as a warrior hellbent on revenge.
Batista joins Chris Pratt, who will play Star-Lord in the film. The movie is being directed by James Gunn and will be released on August 1st, 2014.
