[Gossip] Octomom Being Investigated For Welfare Fraud
Posted by Joseph Lee on 03.20.2013

TMZ reports that Nadya "Octomom" Suleman is being investigated for possible welfare fraud. If she is found guilty, she could go to prison.

Someone complained last week to the Los Angeles County Department of Welfare Fraud Prevention and Investigation (WFP&I), claiming she was getting several forms of welfare, including food stamps, even though she mad almost $200,000 in 2012.

Under California law, she can get welfare for herself and her 14 children if she makes $119,000 or less. If the claim is true, she's over the limit. The WFP&I is investigating and has already interviewed witnesses.

If its ruled that she committed welfare fraud, she can be prosecuted and faces over three years in prison if convicted.
