Gavin O'Connor is on board...
Gavin O'Connor (Pride & Glory, Warrior) has been hired to replace Lynn Ramsay (We Need to Talk About Kevin) on the Western Jane Got A Gun, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Ramsay had problems with producer Scott Steindorff last week that caused her to quit the film, leaving it without a director on the first day of shooting.
Producers Steindorff, Aleen Keshishian and Terry Dougas as well as star and producer Natalie Portman tried to find a director to keep the film alive. The film also stars Joel Edgerton and Jude Law. It could begin shooting in New Mexico as early as tomorrow.
This isn't the first problem for the film. In late February and early March, it lost Michael Fassbender, which meant they had to find a replacement. Several days of preproduction were lost and financing was in trouble until the producers and Ramsey gave Edgerton the role meant for Fassbender and hired Jude Law.
O'Connor most recently directed the pilot for FX's drama The Americans.
