Christina Applegate is looking to become a Griswald. THR reports that Applegate is in negotiations for the female lead role in Vacation opposite Ed Helms. The film is an attempt to restart the famous Vacation franchise that starred Chevy Chase as Clark Griswald, the family man whose grand vacation schemes never quite work out.
Applegate would play the wife of Helms' Rusty Griswald, who is now grown up and has his own family that he decides to take to Walley World. Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley are directing.
