[Movies] Marvel Begins Production On Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Posted by Joseph Lee on 04.08.2013

Superhero Hype reports that Marvel Studios has started production on Captain America: The Winter Soldier. It will start production in Cleveland, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. It will be released on April 4, 2014.

The film will be directed by Anthony and Joe Russo (Welcome to Collinwood) from a screenplay by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely (Captain America: The First Avenger). The film stars Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson, Robert Redford (as Agent Alexander Pierce, a senior leader within the S.H.I.E.L.D. organization), Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo, Georges St-Pierre, Hayley Atwell, Toby Jones, Arnim Zola, Emily VanCamp and Maximiliano Hernández.

Here's a synopsis: "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" will pick-up where "Marvel's The Avengers" left off, as Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and teams up with Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, to battle a powerful yet shadowy enemy in present-day Washington, D.C.

The film will be produced by Kevin Feige and executive produced by Alan Fine, Louis D'Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo and Stan Lee. Before Captain America, Marvel will release Iron Man 3 on May 3 and Thor: the Dark World on November 8.
