We could see the birth of Darth Caedus...
Fans of the Star Wars Expanded Universe may have their hopes of the books being brought to life on-screen bouyed with this one. Schmoes Know claims to have obtained a casting breakdown indicating that Star Wars: Episode VII will focus on the children of Han Solo and Leia, the twins Jacen and Jaina.
For those unfamiliar with the characters, Jacen and Jaina were born to Han and Leia five years after the events in Return of the Jedi. Both of the two were trained as Jedi in Luke's new academy, though Jacen's struggles with the idea of employing violence to fight violence. Events such as the death of his younger brother Anakin in a war with a new race of invaders known as the Yuuzhan Vong and his capture and torture at their hands pushed him further toward the Dark Side. Meanwhile, Jaina served on the Jedi High Council and eventually came into conflict with her brother when he fell.
The alleged plotline of the film from the casting breakdown reads as follows: "Two 17 year old twins, a girl and a boy, are trained by their uncle Luke to be the greatest Jedis in the galaxy. Problems arise when the male twin turns to the dark side."
The character breakdowns of Jacen reads, "Jaina's twin brother, one of the greatest Jedi's in the world. A loner who is constantly struggling with the idea of what's right and what's wrong. Starts to turn to the dark side. Full of conviction that what he is doing is the 'right thing'. Will eventually become Darth Caedus."
Keep in mind all of this is unconfirmed at this point, so take it with a grain of salt. However, it does fall in line with the long-rumored idea that the new film will look at the next generation of characters.
