[Movies] Michael Bay Comments On Fire During Transformers 4 Shoot
Posted by Joseph Lee on 06.14.2013

Michael Bay commented on his official website about a rumored fire on the set of Transformers 4 in Texas. Reports said that Bay and star Mark Wahlberg "barely escape" the blaze. According to Bay, the truth is a little more boring.

He wrote: "Shooting of Transformers 4 is going great with Wahlberg and the new cast. We are having a great time in Texas.

I'm reading how the news makes everything more dramatic than real life. I guess the truth was just too unexciting. Yes there was a small smoldering fire at a house and no, no one was injured during the fire. And no, no one "just narrowly escaped" as the news dramatically states. A crew member though twisted his ankle after falling in a gopher hole on the ranch.

The fire was put out in a brief 15 minutes by a great fire crew on set. It was an attic fire and cause is unknown. No we were not shooting in the attic, we were shooting outside on the ranch.
"

Meanwhile, MLive.com reports that film's Detroit shoot is almost ready to begin. Crews are building the sets in the downtown area.

A guard for Wolverine Security is watching the site and said that they are building a town, surrounding existing buildings like the old United Artists Theater and David Whitney. The new town will be part of the film. The guard said the work will be done sometime in July.

Transformers 4 will be out on June 27, 2014.

Here's a synopsis that was sent to the Michigan Film Office: As humanity picks up the pieces, following the conclusion of Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Autobots and Decepticons have all but vanished from the face of the planet. However, a group of powerful, ingenious businessman and scientists attempt to learn from past Transformer incursions and push the boundaries of technology beyond what they can control all while an ancient, powerful Transformer menace sets Earth in his crosshairs. The epic adventure and battle between good and evil, freedom and enslavement ensues.
